Bring Delta Math back to Acadiana High School
Bring Delta Math back to Acadiana High School
The Issue
Delta Math has been a crucial tool for students at Acadiana High School, making significant impacts on our education journeys. Our grades improved notably whenever Delta Math was implemented. It provided us with an effective, non-disruptive way to enhance our learning, particularly in challenging subjects like Algebra 2.
When Delta Math was part of our curriculum, students who utilized it saw their benchmark scores soar well above the district averages. These statistics speak for themselves: Delta Math was not just another educational tool; it was an instrumental resource that enabled genuine learning and comprehensive understanding of mathematical concepts.
Eliminating Delta Math has taken/will take a toll on our education. Without it, we are left with Savvas, that is not uniquely catered to our educational needs. As students looking for excellence and as future leaders, we deserve resources that equip us with the best possible education. Many students complain that Savvas is more difficult, and furthermore; more distracting and not nearly as helpful as Delta Math. We have a lot more struggles understanding Savvas because their videos don't help like Delta Math videos, where it is a literal teacher almost teaching you a lesson, and they don't show the solutions that are easy to understand, but more complex and difficult.
Aside from the fact, Delta Math isn't paid for by the district or by the school, but by our teachers. So taking away Delta Math isn't reducing any big costs, but just eliminating some student's biggest tool. Unlike Savvas, Delta Math is assigned to us with personalized lessons and problems based on exactly what we're learning & what exactly we need help with. As well as the overall look of the apps, Delta Math is a way better and easier view; While Savvas has small words that can make it harder or more distracting for some.
Here are multiple links provided, describing the advantages of Delta Math, and other peoples experiences, teachers and students alike.
- Think Academy: Delta Math
- Why my students like Delta Math
- Savvas vs Delta Math (From Students Pov)
- Teacher Opinion: Delta Math vs IXL
In light of this, we request the administration at Acadiana High School to reconsider their decision and allow Delta Math. Its efficacy is proven by the spike in academic performance and the positive feedback from students who flourished with its assistance.
By bringing Delta Math back, we will not only improve our grades but also ensure that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential in mathematics. Let's ensure every student has access to an enhanced learning experience.
