Bring Clegg home
The Issue
I am Brittany Moran, a mother and a woman who has endured challenging circumstances. I am the complaining witness in the family violence case involving Clegg Tolbert Beene, and I am advocating for a just and thorough review of the events, evidence, and legal processes that led to Clegg receiving a 10-year sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
This petition is deeply personal for me, as I was directly involved in the allegations that led to Clegg's incarceration. I am intimately familiar with the details of what transpired, the accusations I made, and the information I have attempted to convey regarding the incidents in question.
Crucially, I have signed an affidavit of non-prosecution and have been involved in the RISE program, reflecting my desire for a restorative approach to addressing the events that unfolded. However, as I now evaluate the situation retrospectively, concerns have arisen regarding the consideration of all pertinent information and documentation I provided during the legal proceedings.
There are significant discrepancies in the case records that warrant further investigation. These include inadequacies in the documentation and potential oversights that may have influenced the outcome of Clegg's sentencing. These issues must be brought to light by reviewing and potentially rectifying any procedural missteps that may have occurred.
Furthermore, there are questions about the fairness and integrity of the legal process in this matter, particularly whether all relevant evidence and testimonies, including my own, were duly evaluated and factored into the court's decision.
Justice should not be hindered by oversight or procedural errors, and a comprehensive review could provide clarity and ensure that justice is served for all parties involved. It is essential that the legal system operates transparently and equitably, and that individuals have confidence in its capacity to render fair and unbiased judgments.
I am calling upon the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, legal authorities, and all concerned parties to revisit this case with the seriousness and attention it deserves. By doing so, we can work towards a resolution that is just and reflective of all available evidence.
I ask for your support by signing this petition to urge a reevaluation of Clegg Tolbert Beene's case. Together, we can push for a fair and just legal process.
