Today I received devastating news that Whataburger canceled the jalapeño cheddar biscuit. This was the only thing that I ate from there for breakfast. I built my life around the fact that I could have a jalapeño cheddar biscuit anytime I want between 11 PM and 11 AM.

I would go so far to say that the jalapeño cheddar biscuit is the best thing that Whataburger had on their menu. It was a delectable treat. More importantly, it was the only thing they could fill the emptiness inside of me.

The jalapeño cheddar biscuit was practically a secret menu item. It was printed with text so small on the menu that you couldn’t even see it when you drove up through the drive-through. When I told people about it and they tried it for the first time the response was always the same, “why didn’t I know about these sooner?”

The jalapeño cheddar biscuit was gold and whataburger has squandered it away. The corporate people probably looked at it and said “we don’t sell enough of these let’s discontinue it.” Of course you don’t sell enough if you don’t market it! There wasn’t even a picture on the menu.

What they should’ve done was realize they had a winner with the jalapeño cheddar biscuit, instead of trying to reinvent the chicken breakfast sandwich. Chicken is so last year. JCB was a game changer.
