The Issue

Gibrahayer e-magazine is calling for action to bring back the cherished heritage of the Armenian Church of Sourp Asdvadzadzin in Turkish-occupied Nicosia.
Many members of our community hold fond memories of this church, having celebrated weddings, christenings, religious ceremonies and gatherings under its roof.
The paintings and relics that once adorned its walls are deeply embedded in our cultural and spiritual identity. We strive to bring awareness and galvanize support for their rightful return.
During the tumultuous times of 1963, amidst the forced exodus of the Armenian Cypriots population of Nicosia, these artifacts were removed and are believed to be stored in the Kyrenia Castle.
These artifacts are our connection to our past. The loss we have felt resonates across generations, and the urgency for their recovery continues to grow.
We aim to gather signatures from all over the world to assert our collective call for the artifacts' return to their rightful owners. This campaign seeks to hold responsible parties accountable and ensure the restoration of cultural heritage to the Armenian community. We believe that with concerted action, we can illuminate the international stage and work for their return.
We urge you to stand with us in this noble mission. By signing this petition, you contribute to the preservation of Armenian culture and heritage and help reclaim an invaluable part of our history.
Let your voice be heard as we seek justice and the restoration of the cultural legacy of the Armenian Church of Sourp Asdvadzadzin.
We urge you to Sign this petition and join us in our quest to make this vision a reality.
