

Hi everyone, and thank you to all 210 of you who have signed this petition so far. I am so grateful for all of your support, and please keep sharing, signing and commenting on this petition.
As we have reached 200 supporters, I wrote to Hasbro as I promised I would. I wrote:
"Hi Hasbro,
I am writing to you today to request that you update the Furby Boom app to be compatible with iOS 11 and 12.
I am aware that the Furby Boom toy has been out of production for several years, but many are still available brand new from various retailers, almost all Furby Booms bought when they were originally introduced still work and people still sell them second hand. Despite being discontinued, Furby Booms are a very popular toy and many, many people still own them.
You probably are quite aware of the emphasis put onto the Furby Boom app on the packaging of the Furby Boom toy. I recently purchased a ‘new old stock’ Furby Boom and I was quite surprised by the box. Almost every side of the box contains an ad for the Furby Boom app, with little emphasis on the Furby Boom toy itself. Surely it is not acceptable to discontinue an app that you once labelled as a necessity?
Furby Booms are fun as a stand alone toy, but they were obviously engineered to be used with their app. Furby Boom owners who have devices with the later editions of iOS cannot name their Furby, cannot have virtual Furblings, cannot look after their Furby healthwise, cannot play games with their Furby, can only feed their Furby their finger and cannot enjoy the many other luxuries of the app. Many people quickly get bored by the limited interaction the stand alone Furby Boom presents, and throw it away.
Not updating the Furby Boom app reflects negatively on your current Furby Connect app. Almost all of the reviews on the latter are complaints about the Furby Boom app being discontinued, meaning parents considering purchasing a Furby Connect will either see the terrible review and think the app is faulty, or read the reviews in detail and realise that sooner or later the Furby Connect app will be discontinued and leave their child with a useless Furby.
I assume the central reason for you not updating the Furby Boom app to be compatible with iOS 11/12 is an attempt to coax parents to purchase the newer Furby Connect so their child can still play. This is a flawed strategy. Parents discover that the Furby Boom app is discontinued and decide to never again purchase a Furby, because even today, 5 years after their initial release, they are still priced quite high. Children become attached to their personal Furby Boom, and are not willing to throw it away just to have the latest one. I have every single Furby I ever owned since 2013, despite two of them no longer working. Parents and children alike are not going to be encouraged to buy the Furby Connect on the discovery that the Furby Boom app is discontinued- they will only be discouraged to give money to the Furby company or even Hasbro again.
Hasbro, it only takes a quick read through the comments of the Furby Connect app or the comments of my petition to bring back the Furby Boom app to realise you’re making a mistake.
Please, update the Furby Boom app to be compatible with iOS 11 and 12.
I am not the only person asking this. If you read my attached link, you will discover that (at time of writing) 200 other Furby lovers agree with me.

I am not impressed with their reply to say the least. If anybody else would like to attempt writing to Habsro, be my guest. I will attempt a 3rd time if we reach 500 signatures.
