My Latest Update:
It took me some time to write an update as I was so angry over some of the things I read, for government MP's Pics I saw, stats, that are so out of wack it just pissed me off.
Anything I have written Has been taken off a offical Webside; I will list the websites if need be. I have written them all down I have not made up any of the figures, and I guess that is why I am so Dam Angry!
In 1997 Ottawa said " Housing was not a high Priority for Government! now 2023 do you think maybe it should be! MP Peter Goldring said and I quote, Homelessness Painted an overerly broad picture including thoughs having a financilly hard time Goldring felt that " You don't want to look at it coldly, but people are not deperate untill they have a evection notice in hand. I am sure glad he is no longer a MP but then again he is getting a NICE Pension.
National Youth Homelessness Suvery 20% of Canadaians between 13-24 are homeless, that is at least 35,000 to 40,000. In 2018 on any given night 25,000 to 30,000 don't have a home, but this is not a real number because everyone is not counted! So on any given night up to and more than 30,000 including over 6,000 Youth have no where to sleep.
It costs in 2008 5.1 to 7.1 BILLION in Emergency services, Social services, organization and non profit, 1998 25 years ago, 2.8 million Canadaian households (26%) fell below the min ammount required to afford a basic HOME. 5 years later it rose to 3.2 million and keeps rising.
Poverty In Canda
It was hard to even type that title!
2005 Census, 702,650 Were at risk of being homeless spending 50% on Shelter! Lack of Income security, with lack of affordable housing created hident homeless. It is not Hidden it is in the TENT CITY in every major city and small town! Cuts in Welfare, Indigious living conditions 1-5 urban centres or Homeless, First nation Women have the lowest income of any group in Canda and the highest rate of Violent Assults! Also lack mobility due in part to reserve laws, and inability to OWN property.
Homeless Advocates maintain that Government Funding should be spent on Securing Affordable Housing! Not more Homeless Programs. I say we vote the advocates into Parliment get this done right.
Canda Gov Website, say In 1998 again 25 years ago The mayor's of the largest city's declared Homelessness A National Distastor! Yet they did nothing about it. Homelessness with Shelters ER rooms EMT, Social Workers Substance Abuse Police and Prison have cost taxpayer's 1.4 BILLION! Each YEAR.
