The Issue

Despite the strong number of students who choose it every year and the amazing feedback it consistently receives, the Psychology of Social Realities (PSR) module has suddenly been removed from the Psychology curriculum at NTU. For many of us who were genuinely excited to take this module, this decision feels incredibly disappointing and unfair. We’re asking for your support to help us bring it back. Please sign this petition and show the university how much this matters to students.

PSR has become one of the most impactful and inspiring modules in the Department of Psychology. It brings together ideas from psychology and other disciplines in a way that helps us understand real social issues, and it introduces Participatory Action Research, something we don’t get anywhere else in our degree. At its core, PSR asks how we can use psychology to challenge inequality and help build a fairer society. Many of us chose to study Psychology because we want to make a real difference, and this module gives us the tools to do that. Removing it takes away a unique learning opportunity and puts students at a disadvantage, especially those hoping to work in the charity sector, community organisations, or grassroots projects.

If you’ve taken this module, or were hoping to take it like so many of us, please sign this petition. Your support could help get PSR reinstated and ensure future students don’t lose out on such an important part of the degree. Thank you so much for standing with us.
