The Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon has been a much-loved landmark for decades. From swimming and sports to concerts and family days out, it created memories for generations. But today, it’s closed — left abandoned, decaying, and forgotten. That needs to change.

Many of us remember the iconic dome, the wave machine, and the sense of community the Oasis brought to the town. Its closure has left a huge gap in Swindon’s recreational life. The people of this town — and those far beyond — want to see it brought back to life.

We’re calling on Swindon Borough Council, private stakeholders, and decision-makers to come together and find a solution to reopen, restore, and protect this iconic site. Whether it becomes a leisure centre again or a new community space, the Oasis deserves a future.

This petition is about preserving local heritage, revitalising the community, and giving younger generations the chance to enjoy what we once had.
