Today’s baseball games focus on realism, which is great, but something is missing. There’s no alternative for players who just want to enjoy an action-packed, arcade-style baseball game. That’s why it’s time to bring Slugfest back—whether as a brand-new game or even a remaster of the originals.

Warner Bros. Games owns the rights to MLB Slugfest, and with today’s gaming technology, a revival could be incredible. Imagine a fully remastered version of Slugfest 2003 and Slugfest 2004 available for modern consoles or cloud streaming. Even without a brand-new game, just having the originals back and playable on platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch would be amazing.

Look at how NBA Jam and NFL Blitz made their comebacks—there’s no reason Slugfest couldn’t do the same. Arcade sports games still have a place, and it’s time for baseball to join the fun again.
