To the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC):

Wimbledon is the most historic and prestigious tennis tournament in the world — a celebration of tradition, skill, and the human spirit. Yet in recent years, the complete removal of human line judges has changed the soul of the tournament.

We, the undersigned fans, players, and supporters of the sport, respectfully urge the AELTC to reinstate human line judges on Wimbledon’s courts — whether on all courts, or at least on the show courts (Centre Court and Court No. 1).

Electronic line-calling offers precision — but at the cost of something deeper: the emotion, drama, and tradition that made Wimbledon special. The interactions between players and line judges were not just about officiating — they were moments of theatre, tension, humour, and humanity.

As AI and automation become more common in sport, we ask Wimbledon to stand apart and lead with balance, not just efficiency. Keep technology — but bring back the people.

Let future generations see the quiet dignity of line judges standing tall on grass courts, just as champions once did.
