Earlier this year(2023) we as the community of Dunoon were surprised but happy to realize that we have been given a mobile police station that is at a walking distance for all members of the community. We were happy because we have made many calls asking a police station that will service the people of Dunoon. 

The two police stations that we got service from, namely Table View and Milnerton Police station are very far from our community. Crime in Dunoon is very high but stats won't show you that because most of it is not reported because police stations are far from the community.

It was very sad when we realized that the mobile police station that was close to the community has now been moved to a different location which is far from the community. Dunoon Taxi Rank was a perfect spot for a Dunoon Police Station because it is visible to everyone and people can easily access it. This had an impact in dropping the crime rate in Dunoon.

Apart from reporting crimes, a police station plays an important role to job seekers. It is where they get to certify their job seeking documents and having a police station nearby was saving them a lot of money that they do not have. We request that the mobile police station must be returned immediately and plans to build a permanent one must be in place. BRING BACK DUNOON POLICE STATION!
