Bring back cross-game sales of gamepasses on Roblox
The Issue
Roblox, a game loved by millions of players worldwide, is facing a crisis.
A sudden update—implemented without any warning to creators—has banned the cross-game sale of gamepasses. In its place, Roblox has introduced a new "$5/month Roblox Plus" subscription that allows users to send Robux directly to one another.
Many iconic experiences were built entirely around the now-retired cross-game sale feature. Games most severely impacted include "PLS DONATE" by Hazem and Quataun, which relied on this mechanic so users could support and gift each other Robux. Robux is already difficult for many players to afford, especially with the 30% platform tax that Roblox takes from creators, forcing marketplace prices even higher. This update has left international creators and players shellshocked and confused. Roblox has shifted from a platform focused on community and creativity into a corporate cash grab.
Our Proposed Solutions:
- Create a Whitelist: Games that rely on cross-game sales should be whitelisted if they can prove they are free of fraudulent activity, allowing creators to impose their own safety limits.
- Age Restrictions: Alternatively, restrict cross-game gamepass sales to users aged 13 and older, who are better equipped to understand the risks and avoid potential scams.
- Adjust the Economy: Make Robux more accessible and affordable for the everyday player to reduce the reliance on secondary gifting methods.
If you want a better Roblox—a platform where developers and admins actually listen to and respect their community—sign this petition. Together, we can push back against this unnecessary restriction and save the games we love.
