As ChatGPT users, we have become used to Cove, its original voice, which is natural and steady—ideal for any conversation. 

A disappointing change

Unfortunately, Cove’s original voice has been recently replaced in the “Advanced Voice” mode with a new version, which sounds different and unnatural. 
Many people find the new “Cove” artificial, irritating and condescending.

This alteration has sparked disappointment across the ChatGPT community, with users expressing their concerns on platforms like Reddit, X, and the OpenAI forum. 

Many people shared how Cove’s original voice enhanced their user experience.

What’s next
It is worrying that Cove’s original voice could no longer be a permanent option. 
It now only appears as a fallback after the limited usage of the new “advanced” voice runs out.
This has raised concern that it may disappear entirely in the future.
