Byron Bay is world-famous for its creativity — music, art, and community spirit. But over-regulation and the impacts of COVID have silenced much of what made Byron special. Artists and performers lost opportunities, small creative businesses struggled, and even tourism numbers fell last year.

Now we have a chance to change that.

The Byron Bay Special Entertainment Precinct (SEP) is a progressive initiative by Byron Shire Council and the NSW Government to bring vibrancy back to town. It means more opportunities for artists and musicians, more cultural experiences for locals and visitors, and a stronger tourism economy for one of Australia’s most loved destinations.

Byron’s creative soul has always been its heartbeat. The SEP will help us get it back.
