FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!! A bus will be reinstated to connect Swallownest to Crystal Peaks!!!

Further to my meeting with Alexander Stafford and the many signatures we both obtained to get a bus to reconnect Swallownest to Crystal Peaks, I am extremely pleased to announce that there will be a diversion to the 26/26a bus that will connect Swallownest to Crystal Peaks.
Here is what Alexander had to say in an Email update.
I am pleased that I have been mentioned, although I have to say that I started the petition first ;) and the outcome, whilst the bus is going to be every 2 hours, at least it's better than no bus at all.
Thank you everyone for your support :)
Please will you inform everyone of the good news that may not be able to receive this update.
If I get any more information about the times when the buses will run, I will update as soon as I can. :)
'After a long campaign alongside residents and Conservative Councillors, I am delighted to hear that the Crystal Peaks bus will be restored, providing a lifeline for people in Aston, Aughton and Swallownest who rely on that service.
From January 2024, the rerouted 26/26a will cover the route every 2 hours. It’s a step in the right direction and I am pleased that the Labour Mayor is FINALLY stepping up, after increasing pressure from residents and me.
The Mayor has had the power to do this all along, and he has the power to bring buses back under public control. Let’s hope this follows.
Thank you to everyone who signed my petition, and a special mention to campaigner David Forrest who helped to lead the local campaign for a long time.'
