It’s true.. she visited HR to discuss how 5 women had been laid off and only 1 male who was recurring.
5 women were let go and two left of on their own and had also left in part to Alaar’s behavior.
If she chose to keep silent like most of the cast has.. she’d still have a job and so would Albert Alaar.
Ken Corday has claimed Ari wasn’t retaliated against.. yet she was written off the show and also given a take it or leave it offer with no chance to negotiate.
Yes, times are different and budget cuts and salary cuts are happening industry wide because daily shows are expensive to produce.
But wouldn’t you try to keep her? Wouldn’t you recognize that if she leaves there would be a reduction in viewers?
or would it be cheaper to replace her like you’re replacing the other actresses?
If you’re only on streaming, on a tight budget, and have alienated your female cast then what choice do you really have?
Maybe this is Corday’s way out of continuing the show… Or maybe he doesn’t realize what these women were worth to the cast and the viewers..
7 women out, 1 male who had been berated by Alaar for getting his hair trimmed..
A smiling cast celebrating their 60th anniversary with Ken Corday.. A cast that wants to work but stays silent…
An anonymous actor on set last summer had this to say “ If this was about an actor they’d be gone.. The actors are held to a higher standard. The fact that a producer isn’t, it’s just madness to me”
”What is also sad is that you feel like that
that this guy gets to get away with it because not enough people are coming to our rescue. Where are the people helping out those who feel voiceless?”
Why has one of those helpers lost her job of 25 years? Why are all the women getting replaced?
