According to the 2020 census the Jonesboro Metropolitan area had a population of 133,860 and a Jonesboro/Paragould combined population of 179,932. Jonesboro still does not have a water park. There is a city pool and a few splash pads. Almost all of the small towns near Jonesboro have them. Our county is losing so much revenue every summer because families have to travel to other counties to enjoy the luxury of an aquatic center/water park. If we want families to stay in Jonesboro, we need to provide something for them to do besides eat at one of the hundreds of restaurants or visit the plethora of banks. The city has more than enough money to fund and sustain a water park that is affordable to everyone.
