Season 2 of Amazon Prime's series The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power; based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, saw the death of a much beloved character, Lord Father of the orcs named Adar.

An orginal character to the series, Adar managed to capture the attention & hearts of many a fans despite sharing the screen with big Tolkien names like Sauron, Galadriel & Elrond.

Initially played by Joseph Mawle in season 1, then recast and played by Sam Hazeldine in season 2, Adar has been touted by many as one of the best things to come out of the series.

Sam Hazeldine has won over the hearts of fans & critics alike with his fantastically nuanced portrayal of a character who managed to always walk the line between good & evil with a precise balance and a growing fan following with every new episode this season!

Starting as an elf that got turned into one of the first orcs under the big baddie of Tolkien's world Melkor himself; the torturous tale of his centuries long survival is just one of the many reasons why fans all across the globe connected & fell in love with this character.

From calling all orcs his children, to fighting tooth and nail against Sauron & the whole world for their freedom, Adar represents something different to each of his fans; something way bigger than a minor character for just 2 seasons.

So when Episode 8 of Season 2 killed Adar off in a rush; with a redemption & a betrayal all in the span of just a few minutes, it ignited enormous outrage from us fans who wanted atleast a proper closure from the death of such a compelling character!

To say that we have been left heartbroken is an understatement.

Every day the fandom gets a new grief struck essay, blog post, article or comment detailing the impact of Adar and how killing him off so early into the series has been nothing but an absolute waste of potential. 

So we the fans here have decided to try and reach the Rings of Power team & Amazon through this petition to demand they bring Adar back to the screens; even if by flashbacks just for one more season!
