We, the undersigned residents of Tamworth, call upon Staffordshire Police and the Staffordshire Commissioner to establish a publicly accessible police station or police hub in Tamworth town centre.

Tamworth deserves accessible, visible and community-focused policing.

This is an issue I campaigned on during the local elections. I believe Tamworth deserves a visible and accessible police presence in its town centre, and I intend to continue pursuing that commitment.

While Staffordshire Police maintains a local policing presence in the town, residents should have a convenient place in the town centre where they can walk in, speak to a police officer and raise concerns.

We believe a dedicated police hub would help rebuild the connection between the police and the communities they serve.

We are calling for a facility that would:

1. Allow residents to walk in and speak to police officers. 
2. Provide a physical point of contact for reporting concerns and seeking assistance.
3. Offer support and guidance to victims of crime.
4. Improve the visibility of neighbourhood policing in the town centre.
5. Provide a recognisable base for community policing and engagement.                                                   

We recognise that a new facility does not necessarily need to be a large traditional police station. A smaller, appropriately staffed police hub could provide a practical and achievable solution.

We therefore call upon Staffordshire Police and the Staffordshire Commissioner to:

1. Investigate the feasibility and costs of establishing a publicly accessible police hub in Tamworth town centre.
2. Identify suitable premises and explore opportunities to work with Tamworth Borough Council.
3. Consult local residents about the facilities and services they would like to see provided.
4. Publish a formal response outlining the feasibility, potential timescale and next steps.

Tamworth residents deserve to have accessible policing at the heart of their town.
