I am not a resident of Long Island, but it is personal to me that Boscov's, a wonderful department store chain, opens a store on this bustling island. My preferred location would be at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville, specifically in the former Gertz store which has been sitting vacant since 2020. This isn't just about filling an empty building; it's about bringing jobs and economic growth to the community.

Since Boscov's began expanding in 2011, they have consistently created numerous job opportunities for those who needed them most. According to data from the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), every new retail job can indirectly create up to two additional jobs in other sectors - an impact that could significantly boost Hicksville’s economy.

Moreover, Boscov’s is known for its quality products and excellent customer service which would bring added value for Long Islanders. It’s time we fill this vacant space with something that will benefit everyone involved - residents get access to quality goods and services while also creating employment opportunities.
