Petition updateReinstate the Driving Test in Georgia

Update for our Supporters

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to give everyone an update, and thank you all for your support on this issue.

I received a call from the Governor's office yesterday. I had a very informative conversation with Gov. Kemp's policy advisor of motor vehicles. He told me that the section of the executive order waiving driving tests was written on recommendation from the Dept. of Driver Services, and we should take our complaints to them.

I understand that the DDS may be responsible, but Governor Kemp is the only one who can change this. I will not stop trying to get a meeting, and I am now reaching out to district representatives to receive additional support.

I know that several of you are driving instructors, driving school owners, examiners, and retired DDS employees. If you would like to write a letter explaining your concerns, I will include them with my own letter and the petition, which I am mailing tomorrow. We need to remind our elected officials that they serve us, and this is what their constituents want and deserve.

Thank you again, and keep sharing our story and our petition.
