A summary is listed below of some key points :
STOP the Destruction of Our Farmland, History & Wildlife
This proposed housing development is wrong for our community — wrong for our land, wrong for our future.
Here’s why it must be stopped:
Irreplaceable farmland lost forever – productive agricultural land, farmed for generations, will be destroyed at a time when food security is vital.
No infrastructure to cope – no commitment to fund new schools, expand healthcare, or improve already overstretched roads.
Unsafe road design – the proposed A60 changes create blind spots, increase accident risks, and funnel dangerous “rat run” traffic through residential areas.
Wildlife under threat – deer, buzzards, red kites, and many other species will lose their habitat. Environmental surveys have been superficial and inadequate.
Historical heritage erased – valuable World War artefacts on site face destruction without proper archaeological investigation.
Better alternatives ignored – hundreds of empty buildings and brownfield sites could be redeveloped to revitalise Worksop’s town centre and create affordable homes sustainably.
Strong local opposition – residents of Carlton, Worksop, and surrounding areas have clearly said “NO” to this scheme.
This is not sustainable growth — it’s short-term profit at the cost of our land, our history, and our community.
We demand decision-makers:
Reject this development.
Focus on regenerating existing unused buildings.
Protect farmland, wildlife, and heritage for future generations.
Once this land is gone, it’s gone forever. We must act now.
