Globally, women are being subjected to a discriminatory system known as "Pink Tax". The Pink Tax is the trend of companies, stores, and services pricing a similar product targeted towards women being priced higher than those targeted for men. Most of these products are everyday products like things like razors, shampoos, deodorant, and cloths. This gender-based discrimination even extend to toys and hair cuts. This discrimination is observed not only in stores but also online, where women's products are generally priced higher than men's. Women are paying 7% more for the same products. This economic injustice has unacceptable impacts on women's financial wellbeing. The State of California has found out that women spend an average of $1,351 more per year than men due to gender-based price discrimination. The goal of this petition is to advocate for the elimination of the pink tax. We, therefore, encourage everyone to stand together against this economic injustice.
