I am aware of alleged breach of human rights at Lindisfarne prison and the prison system as a whole in Tasmania.

Currently inmates are keeping record of days in lockdown due to inconvenience for staff & or lack of staffing . Inmates are locked in their cells for days on end ( which is a breach of human rights) also the inhumane wait periods for trials are effecting families, and individuals who may not even be guilty, they are detained until trial, some waiting as long as 6 months to 2 years or more.

Were not asking for an investigation we want immediate change in every prison & detention centre Australia wide.

Basically these men / women are in isolation in their cells without fresh air & exercise which is causing chaos due to the ill effects on mental, physical & emotional health.

I understand some crimes are untolerable, but there are also those with minor discrepancies to deal with ,who are yet to be found guilty or not guilty.Human rights are a basic requirement for everyone and those making these laws must abide by them. Some questionable lack of medical care is also involved ,Funnily enough I wrote the the human rights commisoner & was told, it's not his durastriction. We want change now & it starts here.
