Safe Walking Route to Holyport College for Local Children

The Issue

Local children attending Holyport College are unable to safely travel to and from the College other than by car or bus. This contributes to congestion on local roads and is damaging to the environment. Some families also chose for their children to attend on foot despite it being very unsafe for them to do so as they have to cross the Ascot Road twice. This road has no safe crossing points and a 40mph limit which is regularly ignored by motorists.

in December 2015, the borough council unanimously pledged its support to a campaign to create a safe walking route to and from the College however no such route has been forthcoming.

The College is changing its admissions policy to ensure that more local children than ever can attend the College. It has therefore never been more important that these young people can make the short journey to and from the College safely and without contributing to congestion on the local roads with unnecessary and environmentally damaging car journeys.

We are working with local councillors to make this happen and we need your support for our cause.
