Petition updateBrandon Students Deserve Better

Where do we go from here?

Concerned Parents of BSD 1Brandon, Canada

First, thank you.

In just a few short days, we have surpassed 1,400 signatures. That is 1,400 people who believe our children deserve better. This movement has grown far beyond one family or one incident—it has become a community calling for change.

We need your help now more than ever.

If your child has experienced bullying, or if you have concerns about how incidents have been handled, please send your story directly to Brandon School Division. Decision-makers need to hear from the families who have lived these experiences. The more voices they hear, the clearer it becomes that this is not an isolated issue.

Laura and I have been spending a great deal of time discussing what meaningful change could look like. We have ideas that we believe could be a positive step toward addressing this issue, and we sincerely hope to meet with Brandon School Division to discuss them.

From the stories we’ve received, it has become clear that this is bigger than one school. This is a systemic issue that affects families across the division.

Awareness campaigns have their place, but awareness alone isn’t enough. We need consistent accountability, effective prevention strategies, and systems that ensure every child feels safe at school. Real change requires more than one day of recognition each year—it requires action throughout the entire school year.

This petition has never been about one person. It has always been about creating safer schools for every child.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us. Please keep sharing the petition, encourage others to send their stories to Brandon School Division, and help us keep this conversation moving toward real, lasting change.

Together, we can do better for our kids.

-Lindsay
