An Overdue Update

Hello, I have neglected to inform you of an important development that occurred over these last two months. I applied and was accepted to the IEC Area II Inside Wireman Apprenticeship. I'm currently #61 out of 115 on the waiting list. The non-union route is preferable to fighting a protracted battled against entrenched discrimination, whose outcome is likely defeat. For even if BOLI changed the offending regulation to accommodate homeschoolers, there is no guarantee that the union would change their rules. But I will not stop fighting for other homeschoolers. Though I chose to follow the path of least resistance, they deserve equal opportunity. Complications and distractions have delayed my meeting with Commissioner Avakian. Hopefully, if his schedule is in agreement, we will discuss the matter in October. Apologies for my inactivity. Sincerely, - Adam Russell Garman
