It's disappointing not to be back with any progress. My local MP hasn't had a response from MP Lisa Nandy, who is the person who deals with Culture, Media and Sport.

If anyone here is from her constituency—Wigan—it would be helpful if you contacted her on my behalf. I would be very grateful. We're approaching nine months since I began this petition and after everything died down so soon after it blew up, I'm inclined to believe that no one wants to deal with this problem; everyone seems afraid of upsetting the press.

If you do contact Nandy, please include the link to this petition in your correspondence. I hope my MP will get a response soon, but I'm not holding my breath. Some things never change, and racism is one of them. It's a sad but obvious truth.

Thank you for your support last summer and your ongoing patience. We aren't giving up yet!
