Evening Lovely People
I want to be able to be proud of the English flag, but I wouldn’t have started this petition if that was the case.
It's not all bad, obviously; there are things that we can be proud of, but racism in the UK, is getting worse, more blatant, and often goes unpunished.
Three days before I started this petition, my home was destroyed in a fire. Had I not been stuck in a hotel room, without a wheelchair and nothing to do, but think about everything I have lost, I may have been too self-absorbed in my own world, and not thought too long about Saka, and the pain he must've felt, after being attacked by the press.
My own fire story, has made it into plenty of papers online, so if you've come across a story about a woman abandoning her wheelchair and crawling out the house to safety, that's me.
I've lost everything and I don't know if or when I'll be back in my home, but this petition has given me purpose, and allowed me to focus on something else. Something positive.
I've always put others before myself, and doing good, makes me feel good. More so in tough times like this, but the interest and momentum of this petition has waned, and now I'm worried that we won't get the signatures and attention that we need, to really make a difference. We want and need change!
Please keep sharing. I appreciate this community we are creating; peace and love to you all.
Good luck to the team for tomorrow's match against Denmark.
I saw a video on TikTok today, with the caption: If England lose, I might get called an Orangutan.
It was meant to be satire but we shouldn't joke about issues that are so serious.
35k signatures Sunday? Please keep sharing and talking about this petition.
Kick racism right off the pitch, hold the media accountable and don't be afraid to stand up and say, that's not right, and it has to STOP!
Till next time, share, share, share.
