And now my story

I started my speed dating business Ontario Speed Dating in early 2023. Back then I relied on Eventbrite for sales. In mid-2023, I managed to run one event and didn't get paid until 4 days after the event ended. 16 people were expected to show up, but only 12 arrived. What's common with most of my interactions with people on eventbrite is that many never replied back. Could most ticket buyers there be robots?

Now I'm struggling BECAUSE OF EVENTBRITE

How did I come to this conclusion?

Eventbrite as 1st result

Most people click the first thing they see, and that's always eventbrite.

Businesses that bow down to Eventbrite will get special treatment.

However, businesses like mine that respect customers and their privacy instead of scamming them and selling their information are often shadow-banned, simply because I'm not listed on Eventbrite 24/7.

I'm not the only one impacted

In late 2023, An american sports enthusiast Riley Gaines attempted to organize a womens-only event for strictly women, (not transgenders). Eventbrite deleted the event at its own will.

Instead, Eventbrite promoted terrorist organizations!

Eventbrite may steal and sell your data!

Have you noticed a bunch of ads on Eventbrite even on event pages? They do that from the data they receive from people and can use it against you! Next thing you know, an organizer's customer receives spam from Eventbrite because the customer bought a ticket on that platform.

Here's a quote from attendzen.io

"They (thousands of event owners) don’t have full ownership and control of their attendee data, because they signed it away (often unwittingly) to an event platform or app."

Here's a quote from ticketsignup.io

"...Eventbrite owns and uses the attendee data of every event on its platform. By selling tickets on Eventbrite, you give them your attendees’ data. In turn, Eventbrite sells that data (and your event page traffic) to other events in several ways. First, they sell ad space to other events on your event page. Additionally, they feature events that pay for marketing in Eventbrite search results. And finally, they promote events in marketing emails..."

The bottom line

Whether you're an organizer or an event customer, if you don't want to be part of a ring of spam or scams, DON'T USE EVENTBRITE! and BOYCOTT IT! It does NOT deserve to receive special treatment in search engines!
