Everyone,

Thank you for your overwhelming support for our camp, Rota-Kiwan. We were challenged a week ago to come up with a plan to save camp and start taking some actions to do so. This plan has 3 parts: 1) Develop a plan to improve facilities at camp (Facilities), 2) Get camp to run at a minimum of a break even for 2020 (Programming & Utilization), 3) Find a way to pay for repairs/deficits and endow camp into the future (Fundraising).

We have had a group working on these 3 items and while work is still going on in many areas we need your help with the Fundraising! Right now we are not accepting anything but pledges. This is because we want to show the MCC that we are serious about saving camp and many of us are willing to put our money where our mouth is! It is also something where they have to agree to keeping camp open in order to receive any of it!

We are asking you to pledge what you can. We understand that going into the holidays is not the easiest or best time to try to come up with extra money so we have 2 things to help out. First, we have had an extremely generous individual step forward and offer to match the next $100,000 dollar for dollar! Thank you Axel Anderson for such a generous pledge! Second, we don't need the money today! Let us know when in 2020 you can write the check. If you need until March or June just put that on your pledge form and that is when we will reach out to you!

We currently have over 6,100 people who have signed this petition. If we can get an average pledge of $500 from each signer, we will exceed all of our fundraising goals and fully endow camp for the future. Lets stand up and show our support for this camp and the scouting program in Southwest Michigan.

We currently have roughly $90,000 pledged, not including any matching funds. This is our opportunity to show the MCC that this camp matters to us and that we will fight to keep it open. We will see through all of our promises that we are putting forward and our pledges show that.
