We celebrate Eagle Scout Chris Vogel for speaking out against racism. Let's all work to be kind to one another and celebrate diversity. Please email our Scout leaders, President Jim Turley and Michael Surbaugh. Ask these leaders to join Chris Vogel in speaking out against racism in Scouts BSA and against all forms of discrimination. Tell them that every child should feel welcome and safe in this inspirational organization responsible for producing so many of our national leaders.  Referring to the Boy Scout leadership, the Boston Globe reported,“They have their inner circle, and if you’re not part of that inner circle, they kind of look at you as an outsider,” Vogel said. “You’re either one of them, or you’re not.”  Unfortunately, we have heard this type of complaint from so many others in scouting and have also felt like an “outsider”, particularly  when voicing concerns about discrimination.

President Turley and Chief Scout Executive Michael Surbaugh can be emailed at laurieanndaly@gmail.com; michael.surbaugh@scouting.org; myscouting@scouting.org; pr@scouting.org
