Sydney Ireland helped lead another successful Court of Honor last evening. She is preparing for her Eagle Project this Veterans Day, working with local animal adoption agency #bideawee, #NOWNYC, veterans groups #BackpacksforLife and #100MemorialRun to ‘Connect a Pet with a Vet’! Unfortunately, the Boy Scout leadership will not recognize any of Sydney's work in Scouting.
Please send an email to the National Chair of the Boy Scouts of America Jim Turley. Please respectfully ask Mr. Turley to speak out against the gender discrimination in the Boy Scouts Against Girls Ages 11-18 - NOW!
Please send the following email, or one of your own, and ask National Chair Jim Turley to tell the Boy Scout leadership,
"Dear National Chair Jim Turley:
“Sydney Ireland helped start a successful campaign to allow girls to join the Boy Scouts. The Cub Scout’s have added nearly 60,000 new girls, ages 5-10, as members since ending the discriminatory gender ban this past September. Mr. Turley, please speak out to today to end the formal Boy Scout policy of gender discrimination against girls ages 11-18 joining Boy Scout Troops. Please also recognize all the work, including Rank Advancement and Merit Badges, Sydney and these other young women have earned, just like any other Boy Scout! These women should be celebrated! Thank you Mr. Turley for service to our children and please speak in favor of gender equality NOW!
Sincerely,
Add Your Name”
Please send the email to the below email addresses. Ask the recipients to forward the email to National Chair Jim Turley and to confirm to you by email that your email has been forwarded. Please follow up until you receive a satisfactory response. Thank you for helping to end gender discrimination in the Boy Scouts!
