Yesterday was a momentous day in our campaign’s journey. Our co-founder, Matt Fowler and the co-lead of our Northern Ireland branch, Brenda Doherty, both gave testimony at the Covid Inquiry. You can watch their appearances here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Lma8u8H6-4

Brenda and Matt were both sensational. They were poised, eloquent and powerful as they spoke both about their own experiences of losing their loved ones whilst also relaying the stories of many other members of the campaign and raising issues that have affected bereaved families from all across the country, ranging from the lack of PPE to hospital acquired Covid to DNR orders.

It was an incredibly moving to witness both Brenda and Matt speak, and the impact on Baroness Hallet and her team was clear for everyone to see.

From what started as a chance meeting between two people on Facebook in April 2020, who at the time had both very recently lost their fathers to Covid-19, it’s been an incredible journey to get to where we are today. Matt and Jo, our co-founders, have created a campaign of nearly 7,000 people, who have successfully campaigned for an inquiry that is holding politicians to account and recommending changes that will ensure lives are not needlessly lost ever again as they were in the pandemic.
