To allow partners to attend antenatal/scan appointments.
The Issue
To all partners,
I am writing this petition to get the rules changed for expecting parents and parents to bellow!
expectant women should be allowed to be accompanied by there partner or there birthing partner.
We are expecting are first baby and are first scan is on the 13th of July.
My wife will have to go into the hospital by her self with no emotional support fingers crossed the scans will be fine and everything will run smoothly but there is always a chance that it won't or something will be wrong and she will have to go through the scans alone and scared and all I want to do is be there for my wife.
Everyone who is expecting will have to go through the same situation and to be honest its unacceptable... midwifes all say for the women to relax and not stress but how can they do that when the people around them who just want to be there to support them are refused entry.
Yet as of the 15th of June anyone can use public transport but they have to wear a mask and be in a confined space with other travellers and they think this should be a priority when all people need to do is just follow the rules, socal distance and walk to where you want to go you will still get there it might just take you longer transport should not be a priority.
I understand that the NHS are just trying to protect them self from infection but I can only assume that I speak for everyone when I say that we would be more than willing to wear a mask, face visor, gloves and take a covid19 test every single time just so we can be there to support are loved ones
Boris Johnson you your self just had a baby and you should understand where we are all coming from even you would want to be there for your loved one so Things need to change drastically.
with all your help i believe we can get this changed and be there to be the support that's needed were not asking for the whole family and everyone we know were just asking to change the rules and let the pregnant person have some support by ether a partner or a family member.
