Today, MPs voted in favour of buffer zones! This is unbelievable news and has been a long time coming. 

I just want to say thank you for all your support over the years. Your signatures, emails to MPs etc showed Parliament that public opinion was in favour of buffer zones, in favour of protecting those who needed to access essential services. 

This was never about removing free speech, everyone should have the right to protest. This petition was always about creating a safe buffer zones where protesters were not allowed to be. It was about protecting people from the targeted harassment they faced on their way to abortion clinics (the anti abortion protestors also affected employees and those living in nearby communities). 

I won't mark this petition as a success until the law has been changed and abortion clinics are protected. I'm not being cynical, just realistic! I'll be keeping a close eye on things.
