One of the most flagrant democratic abuses that may recur at the General Election is the failure to send postal vote forms out on time.

British citizens abroad are particularly at risk of not receiving their ballot papers in a timely way so that they can cast their vote.

Can you chip in £10, £25 or what you can afford to our campaign

Others may be disenfranchised because of the arbitrary and outdated 15 year rule which prevents millions of overseas electors voting in the UK.

The experience with #DeniedMyVote in the summer teaches us to be ever vigilant.

Small numbers of votes denied can decide seats and small numbers of seats can decide elections.

General Election postal vote mayhem: expats urged to vote by proxy

That's why we strongly advise British citizens abroad to register to vote by proxy rather than by post.

Here is the form to register a proxy vote

Please note that the deadline to register to vote by proxy in England,Wales and Scotland are different to Northern Ireland.

It is also why we are sending constant reminders that it is imperative that all who are eligible to vote are able to do so.

Here is a link to the online registration form  - please share it with friends and family to make sure they can vote.

The deadline to register is 11.59pm on Tuesday, 26 November

Help us push voter registration and proxy vote applications so that we maximise the turnout in this critical election.

Join us in pressing the political parties to committing to a public inquiry into #DeniedMyVote and changes in the law to scrap the 15 year rule for Britons abroad and to allow EU citizens to vote.

We cannot do all this without your continuing support.
