In a wide-ranging interview Roger Casale, Founder and CEO of New Europeans, sets out how we arrived at the figure of over 1 million EU citizens and Britons abroad who were systematically prevented from voting in the EU elections, what led to our call for a public inquiry and the next steps in the #DeniedMyVote campaign.
The interview was conducted by former Scottish First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond, for the Alex Salmond show.
In the course of the interview, Roger Casale said:
"Everything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong. It was an accident waiting to happen."
"Like the Windrush scandal, #DeniedMyVote shows a contempt for people's rights, a failure to listen, a failure to act in the face of evidence."
"We are not going to let the Government of the day get away with it."
"We have to remember that we are Europeans. And Europe is the place to turn to when your government goes rogue.
"That is why we have also turned to the European Parliament, the European Commission and it is why we are also talking to parliamentarians in other member states."
"I am happy to come on this programme, and any other programme that allows me to hold the mirror up to the UK government and say shame on you!"
New Europeans plans a summer and autumn of campaigning on this issue both in the UK and in the European Parliament.
We cannot sustain the intensity and impact of this campaign without your continued support.

Please chip in £5, £10, £25 or what you can afford to support the campaign.
This crowd-funder only runs for 3 more days at which point we will make a decision about the next steps in the campaign based on what we have been able to raise by then.
So please give do make your contribution so that we can continue to step up this campaign.
