Response from Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards

Dear All,

Thank you so much for your support.

I have received a response from the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards. The commissioner has informed me that an advice letter was issued to Mr Javid following his appointment at JP Morgan.

I have written to the commissioner to seek clarification once more of when Mr Javid's role with JP Morgan should commence. The advice letter states that there should be a waiting period of at least 6 months between finishing his ministerial duties and commencing his new job.

I would encourage you to write to the commissioner yourselves if you have any evidence that a rule has been breached.

I will also be seeking clarification from the Guardian regarding Miss Sultana's article.

It may also interest you to note that David Cameron has been in the news this week regarding a possible lobbying rule breach with an investment fund that he has worked for (Greensill Capital).

It appears that conflict of interest between Government Ministers and their financial interests do exist. However, the question is whether one can prove that a rule has been breached.

Thank you once again for your support.
