Since the UK lockdown was introduced on 23rd March 2020 many UK key workers have missed out on a much needed Bank Holiday. During the lockdown period a total of four Bank Holidays have been and gone (Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day & Whitsun Bank Holidays) This petition proposes 4 additional bank holidays for 2020 to give these much needed workers at least 1 day off whilst also injecting some much needed cash into the UK economy - particularly into the leisure, hospitality & tourism sectors.

Research conducted in May 2020 shows an estimated £500 million would be injected into the economy with the addition of 1x bank holiday. With an additional 4x bank holidays this increased figure would greatly assist the UK's fading economy and provide key workers with some time with their friends and family following this global pandemic.
