Bodyshaming supported by MTV Splitsvilla. We are in 2026. Apologise!
The Issue
It’s deeply disappointing to see a platform like MTV Splitsvilla, associated with a global brand like MTV, allow or engage in behavior that promotes face-shaming.
A member of their reality show is taunted by his haters and opponents using certain slangs and words. The word specifically is "ghoda." The commentator to whom the admin of Splitsvilla has replied is an ex-partner of the person being face-shamed.
Reality shows have a massive influence, especially on younger audiences. Normalizing ridicule based on appearance not only undermines individual dignity but also contributes to a culture of online bullying and insensitivity.
It’s only fair and responsible for the team behind MTV Splitsvilla to:
- Take strict action regarding the conduct of their social media admin
- Remove the comment
- Issue a public apology to Himanshu Arora
As I finish posting this, the comment has already gained 536 likes and a lot of comments in support. Accountability in moments like these isn’t just expected, it’s necessary.
