Liverpool Exhibition Centre - Do NOT host trophy hunting safari companies

The Issue

Trophy hunting companies selling hunting trips of endangered wildlife in Africa are again targeting British people.

The Liverpool Exhibition Centre has agreed to host trophy hunting companies next year, after the people of Birmingham successfully stopped trophy hunting companies being hosted at the Birmingham NEC.

Trophy hunting is the senseless killing of animals just for fun. It’s a despicable “hobby” still happening in many countries across the world.

Engelbrecht Safaris is a Namibian based company that will be offering Liverpudlian trophy hunters the chance to shoot cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras and hippos, as well as ostriches and various species of antelope.

The safari company has already confirmed it intends to be present and is listed in the exhibitors directory.

The killing of endangered animals, such as cheetahs which is red-listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), simply for FUN is not acceptable.

As the Campaign Director of the Campaign To Ban Trophy Hunting I’ve long fought for this barbaric practice - where innocent creatures are killed just for people’s pleasure - to stop.

In July thousands of people signed a petition which made the Birmingham NEC back down. Sign this petition to put pressure on Liverpool Exhibition Centre to do the same!
