The horrible conflict in Syria has forced millions of men, women, and children to become refugees, robbing them of their homes and communities. The United States government wants to help by letting some rebuild their lives here in the U.S., but they haven't made a final decision how many families to take in, or over what period of time.

Let's tell Mayor Bob Buckhorn to show that we in Tampa, FL want to do our part to help Syrian refugees. Recently, the mayors of eighteen cities across the country sent a letter to President Obama saying they want to do their part by accepting refugee families into their communities. We in Tampa should show our support for refugees too. Even if we pledged to take a single family and help them get back on their feet, we would be helping to address the crisis.
