The students of HCST are very upset due to the devastating news we received on the morning of January 21. News that majors of High Tech, Music and Audio Tech, are being moved to County Prep. Also that majors of County Prep, Dance and Theatre, are being moved to High Tech. We understand the option to change our major to stay in our current school or to completely transfer to that other building. But the students do not agree with this action. We got into either school because of our own hard work. We are deeply bothered by the fact that other students are receiving a free pass into each other’s schools that we all worked hard to get into. The separation of friends and teachers plays a huge part in this situation. Relationships with friends and teachers help to motivate us to do our upmost best. Many have created deep bonds and that feeling is what makes our schools feel like a family. This change could drastically affect school spirit and the mental state of many attending. Please take into consideration the students opinion in keeping our school the family it is, and whole.
