Over 100 concerned residents showed up tonight to Bloomfield's Planning Board meeting concerning the Taco Bell/Wendy's project.
Instead of voting on the proposal, the board has requested i) a traffic study and ii) a master plan review of the surrounding area. The Bloomfield Planning Board voting members expressed concern about i) the traffic in the surrounding area, ii) whether the zoning laws for this property even permit 2 restaurants to be built, and iii) storm pipe draining issues pertaining to the property's development.
As a result, the proposal hearing for the Taco Bell/Wendy's has been pushed to May 10, or possibly even June (depending on how long the traffic study will take to conduct).
Multiple attendees mentioned they have never seen so many members of the public attend a Planning Board meeting before. I am so proud of the Bloomfield community in banding together to make sure our voices are heard! Let us keep up the momentum and make sure to attend the following scheduled Planning Board meeting when the project voting will take place!
