Corey Englund (Reprise Design)is proposing a Caribou Coffee drive through and Urban Wok carry-out restaurant on the site of 1022 Wayzata Blvd E in Wayzata.  The project would require rezoning a southern parcel of the project location from "R-3A Single and Two Family Residential District" to a "C-3 Service District" which is commercial.  This parcel of the location is, and always been, zoned residential and abuts a single family home.  The approval of this project would cause disturbances and problems for the people living in this area as well as for the citizens and visitors of Wayzata that use Wayzata Blvd and the business around this intersection.

The issues of concern include, excess noise, exhaust, music, voices from patrons and employees on amplified speakers in the early morning, all day, and into the evening. Bright lighting overlooking the neighborhood and traffic congestion on Wayzata Blvd.

Traffic history at other Caribou Coffee locations show that that long lines of vehicles are possible during busy hours.  The proposed location is an already congested traffic area due to several roads intersecting nearby.  Drive through traffic will be required to exit east on Wayzata Blvd possibly causing drivers to seek other exits, namely in front of the dry cleaner/photoshop and into nearby neighborhoods.
