I am writing this petition out of deep concern and personal conviction. Telegram, a widely used messaging app, poses significant threats to our children and society at large. This platform is unsecured and has become a breeding ground for individuals with malicious intents, including pedophiles, perverts, and even zoophiles.

Each day, countless stories surface about individuals misusing Telegram to exploit young, innocent lives. The app’s lack of stringent security measures and anonymity features create an enabling environment for these predators to operate freely. As a community, it’s alarming and heart-wrenching to imagine the magnitude of trauma our children could suffer because of these unchecked dangers.

According to a report by Europol, given the app's encryption and user privacy policies, Telegram is increasingly becoming a go-to platform for such illicit activities. The same has been echoed by Internet Watch Foundation, which identified thousands of illegal content instances hosted across Telegram channels in recent years. With all this evidence, it's undeniable that immediate action is necessary.

We firmly believe that by blocking Telegram until they can adopt stricter security and user verification standards, we can significantly reduce the risk of harm to vulnerable children. Governments should work in tandem with cybersecurity experts to enforce laws that will ensure online platforms are safe havens, rather than venues for exploitation.
