Block New Development That Harms Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Block New Development That Harms Great Smoky Mountains National Park
The Issue
At all costs. That is how strongly I feel about protecting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Some places are bigger than a weekend trip or a pretty photo. They hold memories, wildlife, clean air, quiet, and the feeling that not everything good in this world has to be paved over, commercialized, or chipped away.
This is not just about one park. When we let damage happen in a place as loved and iconic as the Smokies, we send the message that no public land is truly safe. Families, hikers, nearby communities, future visitors, and the wildlife that depend on this landscape all pay the price when protection comes second to outside pressure. Our national parks are supposed to be preserved, not slowly compromised.
I am calling on National Park Service leadership and federal decision-makers to block any new development, expansion, or approval that would harm the natural integrity of Great Smoky Mountains National Park or the land and habitats connected to it. Protection has to mean real protection, not words that disappear the minute profit enters the conversation. If a project threatens the Smokies' forests, waters, wildlife, or peace, it should not move forward.
If you believe our parks should still be here, still be wild, and still be protected for the next generation, please sign this petition. Add your name if you believe the Great Smoky Mountains are worth defending at all costs.
