The Issue

Georgia is about to cancel nearly half a million voter registrations — one of the largest voter purges in U.S. history.

State officials say these are “inactive voters.” But here’s what that really means: If you missed a couple of elections, moved apartments, or didn’t return a piece of election mail, your right to vote could vanish — without you even knowing.

And it’s happening fast. Over 478,000 people — many in metro Atlanta, and disproportionately Black voters — are at risk of being removed from the rolls in just weeks. Most won’t find out until they try to vote and it’s too late.

Georgia claims it’s about “cleaning up the rolls.” But when the list includes people who haven’t moved or who plan to vote in 2026, that’s not cleanup. That’s voter suppression by spreadsheet.

We’re demanding that Georgia’s Secretary of State immediately pause the mass voter cancellations until a full public audit can ensure no eligible voters are being removed. We also call on lawmakers to repeal Georgia’s “use it or lose it” law — a policy that punishes civic disengagement with disenfranchisement.

This fight will take people power, public pressure, and resources. Add your name, and chip in if you can to help us reach every Georgian at risk of being purged. No one should lose their voice just because they sat out an election.

Voting is a right — not a reward. Help us protect it now.
