Recently, I had a personal experience where my computer nearly crashed after visiting this site. This not only caused a great deal of stress but also made me aware of the potential risks students face when accessing similar online platforms.

Cool Math Games presents itself as an educational resource. However, it often distracts students with engaging games that, rather than contributing to learning, detract from the valuable time that should be spent on homework or studies. Moreover, the site is inundated with advertisements, which not only disrupt the gaming experience but also pose a serious security risk. Many of these ads can inadvertently lead to malware or harmful websites, creating an unnecessary vulnerability for our children and their educational tools.

Additionally, Cool Math Games has been found to collect excessive data from its users. Whether or not an account is created, information such as browsing habits and user preferences are tracked. This kind of data collection is intrusive and raises privacy concerns, particularly when it comes to our children who are often unaware of these digital footprints.

The purpose of this petition is to urge Olympia’s school district to block access to Cool Math Games on school devices and networks. By doing so, we can ensure a safer and more focused educational environment. Children can then engage in more secure educational activities that do not compromise their safety or their privacy.
